Care Bears TV series[]
While doing his usually stargazing from his bedroom window, David is shocked to discover that some of the star are simply missing from the night sky. His mother tells him it's just his imagination, but he can't shake the feeling that something strange is going on.
It turns out his intuition is correct, as high above the Earth a villain named Strato Nefarious is indeed plucking the very stars from the sky to use them as a light source so he can read his sheet music. When David goes out to play hide-and-seek with his friends the next day, he spots the mad fiddler's cloud ship blotting out the sun, which brings about a sudden rainstorm.
The Care Bears battle it out with Nefarious on his ship, and are eventually able to destroy it with a concentrated Care Bear Stare. After Funshine Bear gives him a portable sun to use as a light source instead, he puts all the pilfered stars back in place, much to David's relief the following night. The Night the Stars Went Out
