Hasbro, Inc. (/ˈhæzbroʊ/; a syllabic abbreviation of its original name, Hassenfeld Brothers) is an American multinational conglomerate with toy, board game, and media assets.
Care Bears license history[]
In 2008, American Greetings announced that they had sold the master toy license to the Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake franchises to Hasbro, who confirmed they would release new toys for both franchises in 2009.
However, when 2009 came, no new Care Bears toys were released by Hasbro, and it wouldn't be until the airing of Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot when Hasbro would officially release toys based on the franchise.
In July 2014, American Greetings announced that they had revoked Hasbro's toy license for the franchise, and instead signed a new deal with Just Play for a new Care Bears toy range that would release in Winter 2014/2015.
